Alibaba Sells 16.29 Billion Shares of GOTO



KONTAN.CO.ID-JAKARTA. Alibaba has been observed to release its share prospectus in PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO). As known, Alibaba's ownership flows through its business entity, Taobao China Holding Limited. 

The Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) reported that Taobao China Holding Limited has released 16.20 billion GOTO shares. As a result, Alibaba's ownership remains at 7.37% as of February 7, 2024. 

Taobao China Holding Limited still holds 88.53 billion shares of the technology issuer. Previously, this Alibaba investment vehicle held 104.73 series A GOTO shares or 8.72%. 


SoftBank's ownership through SVF GOTO Suco (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. has not changed. As of February 7, 2024, SoftBank still holds 91.10 billion.  

The percentage of Alibaba and SoftBank's ownership in GOTO was diluted due to the capital increase without the right to order securities in advance (PMTHMETD) or private placement. 

Softbank's ownership has shrunk from 7.73% to 7.62% after the private placement. Similarly, Alibaba Group's ownership was diluted from 8.84% to 8.72%. 

As known, GOTO issued 17.04 billion shares in a private placement equivalent to 1.42%. The new shares have been taken by Bhinneka Holdings (22) Holding. 

As of the end of trading on Monday (12/2), GOTO parked at the level of Rp 86 per share. This strengthened by 2.38% or rose 2 points compared to the previous closing on Wednesday (7/2).
