JAKARTA. Former Democratic Party chairman Anas Urbaningrum has filed an appeal against the Jakarta Corruption Court, which sentenced him to eight years in prison. “With all due respect to the court and the Corruption Eradication Commission [KPK], Mas Anas has decided to use his rights to file an appeal,” Anas’ lawyer Handika Honggo Wongso said as quoted by tribunnews.com. Handika said that his client decided to file the appeal because he felt the judges at the court ignored crucial evidence presented in the course of the trial.
