KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The offices of MMS Group Indonesia, located on the 43rd floor of TCC Batavia Tower One in the Tanah Abang district of Central Jakarta, were noticeably quiet on Wednesday morning (29/5/2024). Occasionally, one or two individuals could be seen entering the building. Unfortunately, attempts by KONTAN to meet with the company's owner, Andrew Hidayat, were unsuccessful. Alika, the receptionist on duty at MMS Group Indonesia, informed KONTAN that Andrew was out of town and it was unclear when he would return. "Mr. Andrew is not in Jakarta," Alika said during an interview at the MMS Group office. After receiving an explanation about KONTAN's purpose for visiting, Alika requested time to discuss with Andrew's assistant. However, after several busy phone calls, Alika was unable to provide a definite date for scheduling an interview with KONTAN.

Interviews with other MMS Group management members were also not possible. Consequently, Alika asked KONTAN to leave a business card. "Everyone is out of the office right now. If you want, we can take your business card and we will contact you later," Alika said, without providing a clear timeline. KONTAN's desire to meet and interview Andrew was not without reason. There were several issues KONTAN wanted to confirm, including allegations of Andrew's involvement in the auction of seized corruption assets - a package of shares in PT Gunung Bara Utama (GBU) - held by the Attorney General's Asset Recovery Center on June 18, 2023. Recently, Andrew's name has been implicated in the auction, which is suspected to have been rigged and caused state losses of up to Rp 9 trillion. The prevailing suspicion is that Andrew is the beneficial owner behind PT Indobara Utama Mandiri (IUM), the company that won the auction for the asset package of shares in a company that owns a coal mine in West Kutai, East Kalimantan.
Indeed, Andrew's name is not listed in the management or shareholder structure data of the company, which was only established on June 8, 2023. According to data from the Directorate General of General Legal Administration (AHU), Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the IUM management consists of Henry Nurjanto as CEO of IUM, Budi Mardiono, Oki Triwahyudi as Director of IUM, and Sandra Pohar as Commissioner of IUM. Meanwhile, the shareholders of IUM consist of PT Prima Mining Sukses, which holds 99.999 shares of IUM or equivalent to 99.99% of the total shares of IUM, and Henry Nurjanto, who owns 1 share or equivalent to 0.001% of IUM shares. Similarly, with PT Prima Mining Sukses, Andrew Hidayat's name is not found there. The AHU Directorate of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights shows that the shareholders of PT Prima Mining Sukses consist of the Director of PT Prima Mining Sukses, Abdul Hariz Fanny Irhan (59.5%), Commissioner of PT Prima Mining Sukses, Andy Antofat (26.5%), Budi Mardiono (14%).

Meanwhile, IUM's victory in the auction for GBU, an asset seized from the corruption case of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, is suspected to be fraught with irregularities. This is because the value of the GBU share package was only offered at around Rp 1.9 trillion in the auction. However, the assets of GBU seized by the Attorney General's Office in the Jiwasraya corruption case were valued at Rp 10 trillion in 2023. In other words, there is a difference of about Rp 9 trillion between the asset value and the auction price, which could potentially result in state losses. In addition, the fact that IUM was only established on June 8, 2023, 10 days before the GBU auction, also raises suspicions. Practically, IUM does not yet have financial statements audited by a public accountant, nor has it proven to have a reputation for managing mining assets.

Allegedly, IUM received a quota of Rp 2.4 trillion from the state-owned bank. However, this news was later denied by BNI Director, David Pirzada, when contacted by KONTAN (2/6/2024). "That news is not true, BNI has never given credit to PT IUM until now," David firmly told KONTAN (2/6/2024). Similarly, BNI Company Secretary, Okki Rushartomo, stated that PT Indobara Utama Mandiri is not a debtor of BNI. "Therefore, we have never provided credit or financing to PT Indobara Utama Mandiri in any form or for any purpose," Okki said when contacted by KONTAN (2/6/2024). That's why the Civil Coalition Save the Mines (KSST), as reported by Kompas.com (29/5/2024), reported the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, along with several private parties such as Andrew Hidayat, Budi Simin Santoso, Yoga Susilo who are suspected to be the beneficial owners of PT Indobara Utama Mandiri (PT IUM), to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on May 27.
