KONTAN.CO.ID - SURABAYA. The police in Surabaya, East Java have stated that they have received a notification letter for the declaration event of the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pair, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin. 

Based on the notification, the declaration event for the prospective presidential candidate Anies Baswedan and prospective vice-presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar is planned to be held at the Majapahit Hotel, Surabaya City, East Java, on Saturday (2/8/2023). 

The Chief of Intelkam of Surabaya Police, AKBP Edi Hartono revealed, that the letter was sent to the Surabaya Police.

"Yes, there has been a direct notification to the Surabaya Police," Edi confirmed via message on Friday (1/9/2023). 

Edi mentioned that the National Awakening Party (PKB) did not send the notification letter. However, it was sent and signed by the National Democrat Party (Nasdem).

"True (declaration) at the Majapahit Hotel. From NasDem Jatim signed by the chairman and secretary," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of PKB, Hasanuddin Wahid did not respond clearly regarding the declaration. However, he acknowledged, PKB and Nasdem will hold a meeting tomorrow. 

"Tomorrow, Saturday (2/9) if there is a declaration or whatever its name is, we will immediately update. We will hold an intensive meeting with our NasDem friends. The important thing is that we have an announcement tomorrow," said Hasanuddin. 

It was previously reported, that the DPP PKB accepted the offer of cooperation from the NasDem Party to nominate Anies Baswedan as the presidential candidate and Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) as the vice-presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election. 

This was revealed by, the Secretary General of PKB, Hasanuddin Wahid, after the plenary meeting to finalize the determination of the presidential (capres) and vice-presidential (cawapres) candidates, at the DPW Office in East Java, Surabaya, Friday (1/9/2023). 

"It was just decided, we accept and will follow up on the application of the NasDem party," said Hasanuddin, when met at the DPW PKB East Java Office. 

Then, said Hasanuddin, the results of the plenary will be conveyed to the General Chairman of PKB, Cak Imin. Because he did not attend the meeting attended by almost all PKB members. 

"The decision is to accept the offer from the NasDem Party to pair the duet of presidential and vice-presidential candidates, Anies and Muhaimin," he explained.
