Diversified miner PT Aneka Tambang opened a gold boutique in Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday, to net more buyers and thus increase its revenue.The Bandung outlet, the second of its kind after one opened in Jakarta last month, will be followed by the opening of more Antam gold boutiques outside Jakarta.“We will open more [gold boutiques] next month in Surabaya, Makassar and Palembang,” Antam refined gold business unit head Dody Martimbang said in Bandung on Wednesday.“We aim to open another five to 10 outlets in Kalimantan and Sulawesi in 2014.”High demand for gold, he said, had prompted the publicly listed state miner to revise its sales target upward from initially 7 tons of gold to 8.2 tons by the end of this year.Antam’s latest financial report shows that its revenue rose by 23.4 percent to Rp 8.81 trillion (US$775.69 million) during the first nine months of this year.According to the report, its gold and refinery segment surged around 50 percent to Rp 4.09 trillion, making up almost half of Antam’s top line.
