Antam's (ANTM) Net Profit Falls 19% to IDR 3.07 Trillion in 2023



KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, also known as Antam, recorded a decline in financial performance throughout 2023. This is because the net profit of this MIND ID business entity plummeted by two digits. 

This issuer with the stock code ANTM booked a net profit for the current year attributable to the parent entity of IDR 3.07 trillion in 2023, down 19.45% annually or Year on Year (YoY) from IDR 3.82 trillion in 2022. 

The correction of this net profit is in line with the decline in Antam's revenue during 2023. From the top line side, ANTM pocketed sales of IDR 41.04 trillion, or down 10.63% YoY from IDR 45.93 trillion.


The details are that gold sales weakened by 17.40% YoY to IDR 26.12 trillion. Nickel ore sales rose 60.89% YoY to IDR 8.31 trillion. Then ferronickel sales contributed IDR 4.55 trillion. 

Next, alumina sales contributed IDR 1.22 trillion to ANTM's total revenue. Sales of bauxite ore, silver, and other precious metals each contributed IDR 466.96 billion, IDR 105.08 billion, and IDR 41 million.

From the service segment, this red-plate issuer earned IDR 255.34 billion from precious metal refining during 2023. This achievement increased by 11.46% annually from IDR 229.04 billion. 

On the other hand, Antam's cost of goods sold also decreased by 7.92% annually to IDR 34.73 trillion. For comparison, in 2022 the cost of goods sold by ANTM was at IDR 37.71 trillion. 

As a result, the operating profit of this precious metal producer fell 33.61% YoY to IDR 2.61 trillion in 2023. Whereas in the previous year, Aneka Tambang's operating profit reached IDR 3.94 trillion.
