PT Astra Honda Motor, a joint venture between Japan's Honda Motor Co. and Indonesia's Astra International, will invest around Rp 3.13 trillion (US$340 million) to build its fourth plant in Karawang, West Java. Executive vice president director Johannes Loman said on Tuesday that the construction of the plant would begin in the first half of this year and it was set to commence operations in the second half of 2013. "The plant will produce around 1.1 million motorcycles per year, adding to our production capacity of between 4.2 million and 4.3 million units annually," Loman told The Jakarta Post in a telephone interview.
