PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) or Unilever has received fresh energy in its Executive position, Benjie Yap who in last December was ratified by the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) as President Director and General Manager Home Care Business Unit has started his leadership in January 2024.

According to the company's official statement, Monday (5/2), in a short time, this De La Salle University alumnus has already met with Unilever's main stakeholders, both business partners, and consumers, made visits to markets and stores, including attending the Clean Mosque Movement event at the Great Mosque of West Sumatra, together with the Indonesian Mosque Council on January 26 in Padang, West Sumatra.

Benjie Yap is the first local talent from the Philippines who successfully grew from a management trainee to become a Country CEO at Unilever.

For more than 20 years, his track record shows diverse positions and extensive experience, including Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, and Research and Development.

In 2001, Benjie held the position of Marketing Director of Home Care at Unilever Philippines, then joined the National Board of Directors as Foods Managing Director, VP for Home Care and Foods, and VP for Customer Development.

Benjie not only contributed at the national level, but also took on an international role as Product Development Manager in Port Sunlight, UK in 1999, and as VP for Home Care at Unilever Thailand in 2009.

With Benjie joining in Indonesia, the 27-year journey with Unilever begins, Benjie Yap is not only a leader but also a figure who cares about employee happiness.

Before serving in Indonesia, Benjie Yap also held the position of CEO at Unilever Philippines from January 2017 to December 2023. His international experience provides a strong foundation to lead Unilever Indonesia towards positive transformation.
