BNI Syariah targets Rp 15b of financing in franchise expo



JAKARTA. The sharia unit of the country's third-largest lender by assets, Bank BNI, is targeting to ink deals for franchising financing totaling Rp 15 billion (US$1.74 million) during the ongoing international franchise expo in Jakarta, IFRA, which kicked off on Friday.“We're targeting to be able to disburse Rp 15 billion in financing during this three-day exhibition,” BNI Syariah director Bambang Widjanarko said Friday in Jakarta.He said BNI had agreed to partner with 15 franchises to help realize the target in the first day of the exhibition alone. “And there are a lot more who are in the process [of applying for the financing],” BNI Syariah financing card general manager Iwa Kusuma added.Iwa said BNI Syariah facilitated the financing through its Hasanah Cards, and that those wanting to apply for the program should have been running their businesses for at least five years.IFRA is taking place from Friday to Sunday at the Jakarta Convention Center.
