BNI will stop the mortgage for Meikarta

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk will stop providing housing loans (KPR) to purchase Meikarta apartments.

Bank Retail Director of BNI Banking Tambok Simanjuntak said, currently there are around 200 Meikarta KPR debtors with a total loan value of Rp 50 billion. "In the future, because of this case, we cannot process new customers," he explained in the presentation of BNI's third quarter performance in 2018, in Jakarta, Thursday (10/18).

With regard to the Meikarta mortgage that has been disbursed, BNI will review the legal rules regarding settlements. So far the debtor is still paying the loan installments smoothly.

"The portion of mortgages for Meikarta is only 0,00001% of the total portfolio. Although we have a bank guarantee, we still have to review it as risk mitigation," added BNI Risk Management Director Bob Tyasika Ananta.

Tambok said BNI's mortgage loan grew 9.1% on an annual basis to Rp 3.9 trillion, compared to the same period last year which reached Rp 3.6 trillion. BNI wants to maintain credit growth until the end of this year in the range of 9% -10% (yoy).
