Permata Bank's Finance Director Rudy Basyir Ahmad said the target is below the banking credit growth target from the Financial Services Authority in the range of 9%-11% this year.

"This year we will focus on the large segments in commercial and SME (Small Medium Enterprise), this will be the engine to boost credit growth in 2024," he said when met in Jakarta, Thursday (3/7).

Last year, Bank Permata has disbursed credits amounting to IDR 142.2 trillion, growing 4.3% YoY. This growth was driven by a 6.1% YoY growth in Corporate credit disbursement.

Meanwhile, this year, Bank Permata sees the corporate credit segment will also be boosted considering the 2024 Election event that will soon end. As a result, entrepreneurs will be more certain in implementing expansion policies, from previously still wait and see.

Furthermore, Josua believes there is a chance of high credit demand this year even though the economic conditions of China and the United States (US) are slowing down. Credit growth remains resilient driven by increases in prospective domestic-oriented sectors, such as the food and beverage sector, basic mineral processing, and the manufacturing sector.

"Consumer credit demand will also grow well with a small credit risk level," said Josua.
