Chevrolet targets to double sales in 2011



JAKARTA. Automaker Chevrolet is targeting to sell 6,000 vehicles this year, following promising sales last year. PT General Motors Indonesia marketing and PR director Debora Amelia Santoso said that last year the company sold 4,509 vehicles, more than double the amount it sold in 2009. "As part of our sales strategy, on January 11 we launched the Captiva SS, which has a 2400 cc engine. In around July, August or September we plan to launch the new MPV Orlando," Debora said in Jakarta on Monday.As of January, the company had sold 360 vehicles. Among them were 145 Chevrolet Spark and 152 Chevrolet Captiva vehicles.In terms of profit, Chevrolet's profits in Indonesia increased 70 percent from 2009 to 2010. (The Jakarta Post)
