JAKARTA. About 1,000 oil tank drivers of Plumpang (Nortn Jakarta) fuel terminal plan to strike on 1 November 2016 up to seven days ahead. The strike may suspend the delivery of fuel to 800 fuel stations in Jabodetabek, as well as Sukabumi and Puncak area (West Java). Every day, Plumpang fuel terminal supplies 15,500 kiloliter of fuels. General Chairman of Federation of Indonesia’s Ports Transportation Labors Ilhamsyah said that the plan for strike relates to the employment status of the drivers. In this case, PT Pertamina Niaga did not appoint the 1,000 drivers as permanent employees, whereas some of them already have a dozen years of service. “They work for more than 12 hours every day without overtime compensation”, he said on Tuesday (25/10).
