Coordinating Minister For The Economics Hatta Rajasa officially launched the ground breaking of a special economic zone (KEK) in Sei Mangkei, Simalungun, North Sumatera.The KEK is part of the government’s Masterplan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI).“The KEK in Sei Mangkei is expected to reduce Indonesia’s dependency on raw material imports,” Hatta said as quoted by kontan.co.id on Wednesday.Investment for the ground breaking reached Rp 321.96 billion, Hatta said, adding that Rp 415.8 billion had been invested in supporting projects in the zone.
