JAKARTA. The House of Representatives has chosen five out of eight candidates who underwent screening on July 3 to be members of the Bank Indonesia Oversight Body (SBSI) for 2013-2016.

“The BSBI members agreed upon by Commission XI are Ahmad Erani Yustika, Chairul Djakman, Fadil Hassan, Sri Adiningsih and Umar Juoro,” said Harry Azhar Asis, the deputy head of Commission XI for finance and banking at the House, after an internal meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The five were selected by acclamation by 51 members of the commission who attended the meeting.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono initially proposed 10 people as candidates, including Arianto Patunru, A.Tony Prasetiantono, Deswandhy Agusman, Mudrajad Kuncoro and Sidharta Utama. However, two candidates – Arianto Patunru and Sidharta Utama – did not undergo screening. (ebf)
