PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) has responded to allegations of the presence of a cancer-causing substance, ethylene oxide (EtO), in Indomie Chicken Special instant noodles seasoning found by the Taipei Department of Health. ICBP's management stated that all instant noodle products produced by the company in Indonesia have been processed in accordance with food safety standards from the Codex Standard for Instant Noodles and standards that comply with the provisions of the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM). "Our instant noodle products have obtained Indonesian National Standard Certification (SNI) and are produced in production facilities certified with international standards. ICBP has been exporting instant noodle products to various countries around the world for more than 30 years," said Taufik Wiraatmadja, Director of ICBP in a press release on the Indofood website.
