Indonesian Aircraft Manufacturer PTDI Exports 6 NC212i Aircraft to the Philippines

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) or PTDI exported six NC212i aircraft to the Philippines worth US$ 79 million. The six aircraft produced by PTDI were ordered by the Department of National Defense/Armed Forces of the Philippines (DND/AFP).

The Director of Finance, Risk Management, and Human Resources of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, Wildan Arief, said that the Philippines has ordered aircraft produced by PTDI for the second time.

Previously, Wildan revealed, PTDI highly appreciated the support of the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) or Indonesia Eximbank in the NC212i aircraft sales program produced by PTDI to the Philippines.

"The Indonesian Ministry of Finance provides financing solutions for the export of six NC212i aircraft ordered by the (DND/AFP) Philippines worth US$ 79 million," Wildan said in a press release, Tuesday (24/10).

He explained that the financing was carried out with the Special Export Assignment (PKE) or National Interest Account (NIA) scheme to support the national strategic transportation equipment manufacturing industry.

Wildan hopes that the financing solution from LPEI can open the tap for more exports of PTDI-produced aircraft to other countries, which can ultimately increase Indonesia's foreign exchange.

“We hope PTDI can rise again, fly high across the sky, and continue to flutter,” he said.

Just so you know, the NC212i aircraft is a light transport aircraft with a modern avionics system full glass cockpit and autopilot, equipped with winglet, ramp door, and has a larger cabin size compared to its class aircraft.

Since 2014, PTDI is the only aircraft manufacturing industry in the world that produces the NC212i aircraft.

So far, a total of 123 NC212 series aircraft have been produced and delivered by PTDI to various customers, both domestically and abroad, out of a total of 606 NC212 series aircraft worldwide.

The LPEI financing agreement with PTDI is the third facility provided by LPEI since 2018.

Previously, LPEI has provided two export working capital facilities to support the implementation of PTDI contracts with Nepal for 1 unit of CN235-220 Military Transport worth US$30 million.

And the PTDI contract with Senegal for 1 unit of CN235-220 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) worth USD24 million, both of which have been successfully delivered in 2021.
