Indonesia's Per Capita Income Reached IDR 75 Million Last Year



KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that Indonesia's economic growth in 2023 grew by 5.05% annually or year on year (YoY). 

From this achievement, Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita reached IDR 75 million or US$ 4,919.7 in 2023.

“Indonesia's GDP per capita in 2023 reached IDR 75 million per capita or US$ 4,919.7 per capita,” said Acting Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti earlier this week.


For information, per capita income is a measure of the amount of money earned per person in a country or geographic area. 

Per capita income can be used to determine the average income per person for a region and to evaluate the standard of living and quality of life of the population.

Per capita income for a country is calculated by dividing the country's national income by its population.

Meanwhile, the GDP per capita in 2023 increased compared to the previous year. Where the GDP per capita in 2022 was recorded at IDR 71.03 million or US$ 4,783.9.
