JAKARTA. The third meeting of Jakarta Wages Board failed to agree on 2017 Jakarta provincial minimum wages. During the meeting on Monday (24/10), the representatives of labors and employers insisted on their respective proposals. The representative of employers at Jakarta Wages Board Sarman Simanjorang said that he is disappointed of the deadlock, on the grounds that all technical regulations have provide clear mechanism on the provincial minimum wages. “We have agreed that the meeting on Wednesday (26/10) will be the last one”, said Sarman. According to Sarman, employers have commitment to comply with the Government Regulation No 78/2015 on Wages to estimate the 2017 provincial minimum wages. In referring to the regulation, 2017 Jakarta provincial minimum wages will increase by 8.25% to IDR3.35 million compared to 2016.
