JAKARTA. In response to the latest police report of alleged sexual assault at Jakarta International School (JIS), this time implicating a teacher, the JIS administration says that as far as it knows there has neither been a teacher "named by the Indonesian Police as a suspect of any alleged crime, [nor] has [one] been questioned by the police," according to JIS spokesman Daniarti Wusono.On Friday, the Jakarta Police said the parent of a JIS kindergarten student had come forward, reporting sexual assault against his son by a teacher at the school.“We have received a new report from [the parent of] a kindergarten student at JIS. The boy has alleged that a teacher molested him,” Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said.Rikwanto said the police received the report at midnight on Tuesday.Daniarti said the JIS administration had no other intention but to fully cooperate with the police investigation."Let us be very clear. Our objective and the objective of law enforcement is the same. We continue to cooperate fully with the police in their ongoing investigation and will continue to cooperate with them in any new investigation to determine the facts of the case so that any and all guilty parties can be brought to justice.We believe the police should be allowed to do their job and in the meantime innocent people should not be attacked and their reputations smeared," Daniarti said in an email to The Jakarta Post on Friday.
