JAKARTA. President Jokowi “Jokowi” Widodo has said Indonesia has to seriously start exploiting maritime resources, which he believes are the future of the country’s economy. He said there is only a small part of maritime resources worth Rp 17 quadrillion (US$1.28 trillion) annually that could be exploited. “Maritime resources are key to improve people’s welfare and social justice in the country,” said Jokowi in his speech at a peak event of the maritime cultural festival in Pegagan Beach, Tatah Bumbu regency, South Kalimantan, on Sunday.
