JAKARTA. After evicting street vendors from its premises, state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia’s (KAI) Operation Region (DAOP) I, Greater Jakarta, is renting out spaces in stations and on plots of its land. Asset senior manager at DAOP I Myrna Fitria said during a press conference on Tuesday that the company was offering space in most of the stations in Greater Jakarta. The stations include the ones in prime areas such as Jakarta Kota station in West Jakarta, Bogor station in West Java, Juanda station and Gambir station in Central Jakarta. Myrna said both companies and individuals were welcome to rent the spaces. “Big franchisers and small and medium enterprises are welcomed to become our tenants as long as they comply with our policy,” she said, adding that there was no limitation on the type of the businesses.
