Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) plans to demolish dozens of illegal buildings around the Lenteng Agung train station in South Jakarta, claiming they block the view of the station. “The station cannot be seen from the outside because it is blocked by nearby illegal buildings. We want to be able to see the station from the street again,” KAI Regional Office I spokesperson Bambang Prayitno said Thursday as quoted by kompas.com. Most illegal buildings around the station are used for small businesses and some for residences.
