KPK gets new info from Sri Mulyani about Century



JAKARTA. Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators have gathered new information after questioning former Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, as a witness in the Bank Century scandal, at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington D. C. earlier this month.KPK chairman Abraham Samad acknowledged that the information was new to him. He said Sri had also provided him with documents to be further examined.According to Abraham, the investigators would question former high-ranking officials at Bank Indonesia (BI) in the near future to confirm the information from Sri Mulyani."Investigators will go to Australia in the near future to interview a former BI official who is currently studying in that country," he said.The investigators questioned the former minister, now a World Bank managing director, over irregularities in the 2008 disbursement of Rp 6.7 trillion (US$700 million) of state funds to save the bank.Several lawmakers claim Sri Mulyani and then BI governor, Vice President Boediono, have a case to answer regarding the controversial bailout.
