KPK questions deputy finance minister



JAKARTA. As investigations deepen into the graft allegations related to the construction of the Hambalang sports complex in Bogor, West Java, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned Deputy Finance Minister Anny Ratnawati on Thursday.

The KPK spokesman, Johan Budi, said Anny was questioned in his capacity as the Finance Ministry’s director general for budgeting.

Anny is currently holding both the deputy minister and budgeting director general positions.


The commission has questioned more than 70 people in its attempt to find evidence of graft indications in the Rp 1.52 trillion (US$161.44 million) project. KPK chief Abraham Samad revealed earlier that there could more than two suspects announced next week.

Among those questioned by the KPK was Democratic Party chairman Anas Urbaningrum, who attended his second summons on Wednesday last week. (Rangga D. Fadillah/ The Jakarta Post)
