KPK to submit Neneng’s case to court

JAKARTA. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced that it would complete the dossier of graft suspect Neneng Sri Wahyuni on Wednesday, and planned to submit it to the Jakarta Corruption Court.

KPK spokesperson Johan Budi said before completing the case the commission would summon Neneng, the wife of graft convict Muhammad Nazaruddin, for the final session of questioning on Wednesday afternoon.

“Aside from Neneng we [the KPK] also plan to complete the dossier of other suspects related in the case namely R. Azmi bin Muhammad Yusof and Hasan bin Kushi,” he told reporters in a written announcement on Wednesday.

He said after the KPK submitted the dossiers to the Jakarta Corruption Court, the trial would begin within 14 days.

Neneng is a graft suspect in a solar-power equipment procurement scandal at the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry, who allegedly received Rp 2.7 billion from a project that cost the state Rp 3.8 billion in losses.

Neneng with her husband Nazaruddin, who is a key player in many other graft cases related to House of Representatives’ politicians and government funded projects, fled the country to Malaysia last year in order to evade KPK investigations. (Rabby Pramudatama/ The Jakarta Post)
