KPU completes ballot distribution

JAKARTA. The General Elections Commission (KPU) said on Thursday that it had finished distributing ballot papers for the upcoming presidential election to all 33 provinces.“We have sent all of them. We just have to wait for them [KPU’s regional branches] to receive the ballot papers.” KPU legal bureau staffer Susila Herry Prabowo said. The KPU’s regional branches will then calculate how many ballot papers they each received and how many of them were damaged so that the central KPU can determine how many ballot papers are lacking, he added.According to him, the KPU sent 192,267,116 ballot papers.KPU commissioner Hadar Nafis Gumay, meanwhile, said that he expected the logistical preparation for the presidential election to be less problematic than for the legislative election.“The challenge is not as big as for the legislative election. Previously, there were many variations of ballot papers and the amount was also very big so that there were many cases of switched ballot papers,” he said.
