JAKARTA. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s vision to transform Indonesia into a global maritime axis has been lauded by the international community, with several countries offering to cooperate with the government to realize the vision, a senior minister has said. “When the President attended the APEC Summit in Beijing and the G-20 Summit in Australia in November 2014, leaders of countries, namely Australia, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the Netherlands and the US, said they were ready to cooperate with Indonesia in the fields of fisheries and maritime resource development as well as maritime infrastructure development and capacity building,” Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Indroyono Susilo said in Jakarta on Monday. He was speaking in front of participants of an Indonesian representative heads’ work meeting at the Foreign Ministry in Jakarta on Monday.
