KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The momentum of Ramadan seems to be a breath of fresh air for issuers managing shopping centers or malls. This is inseparable from the surge in visitors predicted to increase compared to Ramadan last year. PT Metropolitan Land Tbk (
MTLA) or Metland stated the increase in mall visits in the first week of Ramadan has not been significant. However, management is optimistic that there will be an increase from previous Ramadans due to the support of several new tenants who have joined and the event agenda that has been planned throughout Ramadan.

"The occupancy of the three Metland malls is quite good at over 96% with several outlets that will open to chase the moment of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr," Olivia told Kontan.co.id, some time ago.
Olivia explained, that even though the shopping center will be crowded, the increase in income from the shopping center side is not significant because the rental income and service are already measured. Meanwhile, the increase in income will be obtained from the rental area of the exhibition space and the increase in parking during Ramadan.
"The increase in income ranges from 10%-15% compared to regular days," she said. MTLA has prepared some strategies for welcoming the moment of Ramadan. Several agendas have been prepared, among others, to continue to present attractive shopping programs for all visitors such as cashback programs, top spenders and other loyal customer programs. Then, they also present creative activities and the presence of new, varied tenants in the three malls owned by Metland.
