KONTAN.CO.ID - Despite problems with land acquisition, PT MRT Jakarta is optimistic that construction of Jakarta's first mass rapid transit system will reach 93 percent by the end of this year. The ongoing construction of elevated MRT stations is currently hampered by a land dispute involving the city administration and several residents on Jl. Haji Nawi in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. As a result, the construction of the Haji Nawi elevated station has only reached a stage of 36 percent. Meanwhile, the other six elevated stations are currently at stages of completion between 41 percent and 55 percent. "Because of the issue, we are indeed a little bit behind our target," said Silviana Halim, construction director of PT MRT Jakarta. "However, that is tolerable, so we are optimistic about still reaching 93 percent by the end of this year."
