JAKARTA. Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Dwi Priyatno called on residents to refrain from city-wide convoys in celebration of takbiran (Idul Fitri eve) parade on the night prior to Idul Fitri. He said that in an attempt to cut down on street crimes, accidents and congestion the police would take firm action against those using trucks and pick-ups in the parades. “A good way to praise God is to go to Mosque, not parade around the city. We will take firm action if participants disturb public order,” Dwi said on Friday.
