JAKARTA. The National Police's counterterrorism unit Densus 88 and Jakarta Police arrested a man suspected to be the perpetrator of a blast in Alam Sutera Mall on the outskirts of Jakarta on Wednesday.

Kompas.com reported that Sr. Cmr. Martinus Hukom, Densus 88 chief, confirmed that a man with initials LO was arrested in Banten Indah Permai housing complex on Wednesday afternoon.

He said the alleged perpetrator was an expert in information and technology (IT) who worked in the Alam Sutera area in Tangerang, not far from the mall.

Separately, detective unit chief at the Jakarta Police Sr. Cmr. Khrisna Murti said that there were four bomb attempts conducted by LO.

"There were four attempts, two exploded and another two did not," he said as reported by kompas.com.
