Police to question doctors in JIS case

JAKARTA. Investigators at the Jakarta Police will summon the doctors from Kramat Jati Police Hospital who performed laboratory checks of AN and ZA, two cleaners who were allegedly involved in the sexual assault of a student at Jakarta International School (JIS).
“The laboratory test results of both cleaners were negative. There was bacteria found but still, it could not confirm that the two cleaners infected the victim. Investigators will summon the doctors to explain the laboratory test results to them,” said Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Rikwanto on Wednesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

He said that during the questioning, investigators would ask the doctors to give scientific explanations of the lab test results. He added police would continue to monitor the two cleaners, even though they had tested negative.

“We still suspect them. We are still waiting for other information and evidence on their possible involvement in the case,” said Rikwanto.

The police have questioned 11 witnesses, two of them – Agun Iskandar and Virgiawan Amin aka Awan – have been named suspects. (put/ebf)
