General Elections Commission (KPU) commissioner Hadar Nafis Gumay has said printing companies that produced ballots for the Feb. 15 simultaneous regional elections were responsible for the replacement of all damaged ballots found during the sorting process. It has been reported that KPU offices across the country have found damaged ballots while sorting them. “The damaged ballots will be replaced and the replacements should be immediately delivered to KPU offices in the respective municipalities and regencies. It is stated in the agreement [between the regional KPUs and printing companies], that all ballots should be in accordance with the determined specifications,” Hadar told The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
