KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT Timah Tbk (TINS) is targeting a tin ore production of 30,000 tons in the 2024 Work Plan and Budget (RKAB). Concurrently with the approval of the 2024 RKAB, TINS has now resumed tin exports after previously experiencing export obstacles due to a case. The Director of Mineral and Coal Program Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Tri Winarno, reported that the number of approved tin mining RKABs has increased to 15 business entities from previously only 12 business entities. The tin production capacity from the approved RKAB is 46,444 tons for the 2024-2026 period. This number increased by 4.41% from the previous year's 44,481.63 tons for business entities.

He added the RKAB that has been approved for 15 companies has taken a 60%-65% portion of the total mining production capacity in 2023 at 74,000 tons of tin ore. As a reminder, according to KONTAN's records, in January 2024, this state-owned metal mining issuer, a member of MID ID, claimed not to have exported tin. "Thank God, we have now exported," said TINS Company Secretary, Abdullah Umar when contacted by KONTAN, on Tuesday (26/3).
TINS President Director, Ahmad Dani Virsal said, that this year TINS plans to produce higher than the previous year's RKAB which was around 26,000 tons of tin ore. For this year, TINS is targeting 30,000 tons of tin ore with a portion of 5%-8% for domestic sales, and the rest for the export market. "The export target if compared to last year grew above 1%," said Ahmad when met at the DPR complex, Wednesday (26/3).
He explained TINS will be cautious in accommodating plans for community mines to be purchased by TINS. This is because TINS is still waiting for a people's mining permit (IPR) from several people's mining areas (WPR) that have been mapped.

According to KONTAN's records, TINS has allocated a capex budget this year of IDR 800 billion, IDR 400 billion of which is for the rejuvenation of mining equipment to boost production.
