PTPP) inaugurated the Indrapura-Kisaran Toll Road, Indrapura-Lima Puluh section, on Wednesday (14/2). The project, located at the Lima Puluh Toll Gate in Batubara Regency, North Sumatra, has a contract value of IDR 4.3 trillion and spans 47.75 kilometers. The Indrapura – Kisaran Toll Road is part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road and is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) carried out by PTPP from December 2018 to January 2024.
The inauguration ceremony was officially conducted by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), symbolized by the signing of a plaque. In his speech, President Jokowi said that the inaugurated toll road can improve connectivity and accessibility to and from the Lake Toba Area. Then, it shortens the logistics route to and from Kuala Tanjung Port, increases mobility from Tebing Tinggi to Kisaran, Pematang Siantar to Parapat, and enhances connectivity of the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (SEZ). “The existence of this toll road section will speed up travel time from Medan and its surroundings to Kisaran and Riau Province, thus promoting economic growth in the region and its surroundings, increasing regional competitiveness, and creating new jobs,” he said in an official statement, Thursday (15/2). PTPP President Director Novel Arsyad said, the completion of the Indrapura – Kisaran toll road project adds to PTPP's success in supporting national infrastructure growth in accordance with quality standards, targets, and safety considerations during construction.
“The completion of the National Strategic Project in early 2024 is a success and a good experience for future similar projects,” he said. According to Novel, PTPP is currently building the Bayung - Lencir Tempino Toll Road Section 2 project, the Probolinggo - Banyuwangi Package 3 Toll Road project, and the Semarang - Demak Section 1B Toll Road project, which are PSN. “With the experience and competence from previous toll road projects, the Company is optimistic that it can continue to improve the quality and execution of projects, in line with the given targets,” he explained. The inauguration of the Indrapura-Kisaran Toll Road was also attended by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Director General of PUPR Hedy Rahadian, Chairperson of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives Meutya Viada Hafid, Acting Governor of North Sumatra Hassanudin, Acting Mayor of Tebing Tinggi Syarmadani, Acting Regent of Batu Bara Nizhamul, and President Director of PT Hutama Karya (Persero) Budi Harto.
