Public goods transport to get yellow plates



JAKARTA. The Transportation Ministry plans to give yellow license plates to vehicles transporting public goods so they can get subsidized fuel, an official says.Most vehicles transporting public goods now have black plates and are assumed to be private cars.“We are currently setting certain mechanisms for the vehicles,” Deputy Transportation Minister Bambang Susantono said Tuesday.He said the mechanisms and criteria would be settled by January of next year.“The subsidized fuel is for those who require it, and these vehicles are serving the public,” Bambang said.On Monday, the government agreed to restrict subsidized fuel for private cars beginning next year.
