Rupiah Weakens, Garudafood (GOOD) Has No Plans to Raise Product Prices

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (GOOD), a leading Indonesian food company, has assured that there will be no increase in product prices due to the weakening of the rupiah, which has led to a surge in raw material costs.

Just so you know, the rupiah's exchange rate continues to plummet to the level of Rp 16,000 per US dollar.

Dian Astriana, Head of Corporate Communications and External Relations at Garudafood, stated that the company has no plans to raise product prices in the near future.

"At this time, we have no plans related to a price increase," Dian said when confirmed by Kontan, in Jakarta, on Thursday (25/4).

Although GOOD will continue to monitor the situation regarding the weakening of the rupiah, Dian admitted that the weakening rupiah does not significantly impact the company's revenue.

"The weakening of the rupiah does not have a significant impact. We continue to monitor this situation (weakening rupiah). The weakening of the rupiah does not significantly impact the company's overall revenue," she revealed.

One of the imported raw materials for production is cocoa. However, the company has confirmed that it has signed a supply contract for cocoa until the end of 2024, thus the fluctuation in world cocoa prices can be contained.

"The Garudafood raw material component affected by the weakening rupiah is cocoa. But we have already contracted for cocoa until the end of 2024, so the increase in world cocoa prices can be contained," she concluded.
