Salim and Lotte launch e-commerce joint venture

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. Diversified conglomerates Salim Group and Lotte Group from South Korea have officially launched their e-commerce joint venture iLotte, managed under PT Indo Lotte Makmur.

Customers can shop for branded products such as fashion, food and even automobiles in iLotte, said PT Indo Lotte Makmur president director Lee Jae-Kwan in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He said famous brands such as Shiseido, ELLE, Alleira, JYSK, JBL, Electrolux, Volkswagen, Piaggio-Vespa and Audi had joined iLotte. "iLotte combines Salim's expertise in the Indonesian market and Lotte's distinctive lifestyle products," he said during the launch of the joint venture.

PT Indo Lotte Makmur marketing director Ardi Sudarto guaranteed no fake products would be sold as iLotte only worked with official distributors.

Ardi said that food and beverage products will be provided by the nearest Lotte Mart, that cooperate with local producers such as Pesona Nusantara to provide local food. “If you want Lumpia from Semarang, we will deliver it to you within two days," he said.

PT Indo Lotte Makmur deputy president director Steven Calvin Victory Tjong said Salim and Lotte had injected US$100 million investment for the initial phase. Each group has 50 percent ownership of the joint venture.
