Singapore eyes tourism in Solo



SOLO. Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia Anil Kumar Nayar expressed his interest in investing in tourism in Surakarta (commonly known as Solo) during a meeting with the city’s mayor, FX Hadi Rudyatmo, on Thursday.“The most interesting sector in Solo is its tourism. We have also invited [Surakarta officials] to visit Singapore to see the potential there,” Kumar told reporters after the meeting.Hadi warmly welcomed Singapore’s intention to invest in Surakarta, offering the city-state the chance to become involved in the development of Kali Pepe tourist site.Besides tourism, Hadi also asked Singapore to collaborate on the city’s garbage processing and the Solo Techno Park complex. “We are just awaiting a response from Singapore,” he added.
