KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT Smart Cakrawala Aviation (Smart Aviation), a non-scheduled commercial air transport service company, plans to add four aircraft to their fleet to improve the company's performance. Hastera Nagara, the Executive Business Development of Smart Aviation, stated that the company will procure three Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft and one Cessna 408 Sky Courier aircraft. “For this year, we will procure three Cessna Caravans, because the one Sky Courier unit will arrive in 2027. But we have already signed the agreement and made the down payment, so now the aircraft is being assembled,” said Hastera when met by Kontan at the Intimate Luncheon Smart Aviation with Media event, on Tuesday (20/02).

Hastera also stated that the price of the Cessna 208 Caravan is US$3.35 million (equivalent to IDR 52.437 billion, exchange rate 1 US$ = IDR 15,567) while the price of the Cessna 408 Sky Courier is US$9.8 million (equivalent to IDR 153.44 billion, exchange rate 1 USD = IDR 15,567). “Until now, we have been able to purchase all the aircraft with cash,” revealed Hastera. Regarding the market, he added that the company's market share is still evenly distributed, ranging from Weather Modification Technology (TMC) requests or those from non-TMC sources. “Until now it's still 50:50 (income) because what we work on TMC with what we work on regularly in Papua or Kalimantan. Because TMC itself is still based on direct appointment, so we wait for direct instructions from BMKG and BNPB, while for the regular ones we have daily in Papua and Kalimantan,” he explained.
