Spot Rupiah Closed Weakened by 0.17% to Rp 15,719 per US Dollar on Thursday (29/2)



KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,719 per US dollar at the end of trading on Thursday (29/2), weakening 0.17% from the previous day which was at Rp 15,692 per US dollar.

In Asia, only the rupiah and the Taiwan dollar weakened against the US dollar. The Taiwan dollar weakened 0.003% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the majority of Asian currencies strengthened against the US dollar this afternoon. The Japanese yen led the strengthening of Asian currencies against the US dollar this afternoon with an increase of 0.69%, followed by the Thai baht which strengthened 0.34%.

Tthe Malaysian ringgit rose 0.22%, the Korean won rose 0.16%, the Singapore dollar rose 0.15%, the Philippine peso rose 0.08%, the Chinese yuan rose 0.06%, the Hong Kong dollar rose 0.02% and the Indian rupee rose 0.007% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which reflects the exchange rate of the US dollar against the world's major currencies, is at 103.89, down from the previous day which was at 103.97.
