The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,635 per US dollar at the end of trading on Wednesday (7/2), strengthening 0.61% from the previous day which was at Rp 15,730 per US dollar. In Asia, the majority of currencies strengthened against the US dollar. The rupiah led the strengthening of Asian currencies against the US dollar with an increase of 0.61%, followed by the Philippine peso which rose 0.42%, the Malaysian ringgit rose 0.11%, the Indian rupee rose 0.11%, the Singapore dollar rose 0.10%, the Japanese yen 0.06%, the Hong Kong dollar rose 0.02% and the Thai baht rose 0.02% against the US dollar. Meanwhile, other Asian currencies weakened against the US dollar. The Taiwan dollar fell 0.07%, the Chinese yuan fell 0.03% and the Korean won weakened 0.02% against the US dollar.
