Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti is urging people to stop eating crabs, lobsters and their eggs due to drops in the population of both crustacean types. “We must not continue to catch crabs and lobsters because their population keeps decreasing each year. I want people to stop eating crabs, lobsters and their eggs to help us protect the future of both crustaceans and the seafood industry,” Susi told The Jakarta Post recently. She also warned that eating the crustaceans and their eggs was not good for cholesterol.
