Tabalong’s oil, gas production targets achieved

JAKARTA. The head of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKKMigas) operation division for Kalimantan and Sulawesi, Roy Widiarta, has said its crude oil production target of 3,500 barrels per day in Tabalong regency, South Kalimantan, has been achieved.

“Pertamina EP Asset 5 Tanjung (the upstream subsidiary of state-run energy firm PT Pertamina) is one of biggest oil and gas companies in Kalimantan and its production target of 3,500 barrels per day has been met,” said Roy as quoted by Antara in Tanjung on Saturday evening.

He was speaking during a meeting between SKKMigas and Pertamina EP Asset 5 Tanjung officials and Tabalong regent Anang Syakhfiani and his staffers at the Pertamina Tanjung headquarters in the Mustika Patra building.

Roy explained that many of Pertamina’s assets were still controlled by local people who, for instance, were illegally squatting on the company’s land.

He said Pertamina EP Asset 5 Tanjung had introduced a plan to remove illegal structures built along its oil and gas pipelines from Manunggul village in Murung Pudak district, Tabalong, South Kalimantan, to Panajam regency in East Kalimantan.

“The company’s pipelines stretch 232 kilometers from Manunggul village to Panajam regency, East Kalimantan and we have introduced our asset security plans to local communities,” Pertamina EP Asset 5 Tanjung spokesperson, Ruspandi, said. (ebf)
