The Indonesian State Budget Surplus IDR 22.8 Trillion Until Mid-March 2024



KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The Indonesian State Budget (APBN) 2024 recorded a surplus until mid-March 2024.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said, the APBN 2024 recorded a surplus of IDR 22.8 trillion until March 15, 2024. This budget surplus is equivalent to 0.10% of the gross domestic product (GDP).

However, the APBN surplus in mid-March 2024 is lower compared to the same period last year. For comparison, the APBN surplus on January 15, 2023, was recorded at IDR 122.9 trillion.


"The total posture of the APBN until March 15, 2024, is a surplus of IDR 22.8 trillion compared to last year which had a surplus of IDR 122.9 trillion. This is a sharp decrease, but we still have enough surplus until March 15," said Sri Mulyani in a Joint Meeting with the DPR RI Commission XI, Tuesday (19/3).

Sri Mulyani said, the APBN surplus in mid-March 2024 came from state revenue that collected IDR 493.2 trillion. This realization reached 17.6% of the APBN 2024 target.

On the other hand, the realization of state expenditure until mid-March 2024 reached IDR 470.3 trillion, or reached 14.1% of the ceiling.

With the APBN's performance that experienced a surplus, Sri Mulyani reported, the primary balance in mid-March 2024 also had a surplus of IDR 132.1 trillion.

The primary balance itself is the total state revenue minus state expenditure outside of debt interest payments.
