JAKARTA. The Jakarta’s Local Election Commission (KPUD) has not yet released the official results of Jakarta gubernatorial election, which was held on 15 February 2017. However, the results of some quick counts of all survey institutions show that the two-round scenario seems to be unavoidable. Therefore, the winner of Jakarta Gubernatorial Election has to be selected through the second round in April 2017. Jakarta gubernatorial election has attracted the most attentions, including from the businessmen, compared with 100 other local elections. Understandably, aside of the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta also controls more than 50% of Indonesia’s economy. Let alone, around 63% of the country’s money are circulating in Jakarta. Some businessmen admits to feeling relieved that the concurrent local elections had run in a relatively peaceful manner, despite Jakarta has to run trough one more round to select the winner.
