Wonderful Indonesia brand graces Seoul and Busan



JAKARTA. The Wonderful Indonesia brand is going places, literally. After New York, the Netherlands, France and Dubai, it has now it has landed in South Korea, particularly in Seoul and Busan.

In Seoul, the capital city of South Korea, the ads have been installed on two digital media tunnel LEDs and one subway and several subway screen doors of the Seoul Metro.

“The ads run from May 14 to July 15,” said I Gde Pitana, the ministry's deputy for overseas promotion.


In Busan, the platforms used for the advertisement are one bilboard and one One Vision Way with the images presented including Borobudur Temple, Prambanan and Joglosemar (Yogyakarta, Surakarta and Semarang), surfing in Sumbawa, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, Balangan Beach, Mengening Beach, Uluwatu and Gili Tepekong in Bali.

“In Busan, the ads run from May to October 2017 at the Busan Indonesia Centre that is always crowded with visitors. This promotion aims to attract more tourists from South Korea to come to Indonesia, as well as visitors from other countries who happen to be there,” added Elizabeth Hutagaol, the head of the ministry's media communications for foreign tourism marketing development.

According to the ministry's data, 338,671 tourists from South Korea arrived in Indonesia in 2015. This year the ministry is aiming to attract 514,000 tourists from South Korea to the archipelago.
